Here at Nelson Brazilian Jiu Jitsu we offer a range of classes to help those develop their martial arts skills.
This class covers the basic fundamental movements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as an introduction to some of the techniques commonly used in the sport.
-Our regular class involves a warm-up, some sport specific conditioning as well as an opportunity to roll "spar"
-Free practice, spar or drill techniques at your leisure.
Little Champs (4-7 Years)
This fun focused class acts as an introduction to the sport. It includes a variety of fundamental movements to develop balance, coordination and agility. Children are encouraged to listen to instruction and follow it in a safe, non pressured & fun environment. Basic learning skills and martial arts disciplines are developed.
Juniors (7-15 Years)
A higher maturity is expected in this group. Basic learning skills such as listening and observing are emphasized and giving your best effort is encouraged. Students are introduced to more processed movements and techniques involving leverage and balance are developed. This class will make students better BJJ training partner and some self defense (Bully-proofing) techniques are included as the students begin the adult syllabus.
Open Mat (all members)
Open mat is is an informal opportunity to spar (roll) and develop the movements and techniques you have learn in our regular curriculum. This session is very social and provides opportunities to share techniques or ask questions between members. Our focus for open mat is to have fun, work hard and improve our Jiu-Jitsu through safe controlled rolling.
